It was in June that “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019” ranking named Le Mirazur in Menton the best restaurant in the world.
The Chef:
Mauro Colagreco, an Italian-Argentine, worked with the greatest French chefs such as Bernard Loiseau, Alain Passard and Alain Ducasse, after brilliant hospitality studies in Argentina and France.
In 2006, he opened the Mirazur restaurant and earned its first star 11 months later. Three years after that, he was named “Chef of the Year” by Gault&Millau, and in 2017 he was made a “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.”

In May 2019, it earned its third star from the Michelin Guide, and a month later its restaurant was honored.

His cuisine: surprising and original dishes, made with fresh, authentic products, most of which come from his garden and orchard. He creates new dishes continuously, roughly 250 a year. Each table has a different menu, and loyal guests never eat the same thing thanks to the register kept by the restaurant, which is unprecedented and unusual.

In September, the prickly pear fig takes center stage.

2 menus:

Good to know:
For those who want to taste Mauro Colagreco’s cuisine right away, and at a more affordable price, he has just opened a pizzeria: Pecora Negra. This pizzeria honors his origins and focuses on the quality of its products, with the great Chef again relying on small local producers. On the menu, high-quality pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven.
