This year, for its 14th edition, the Jumping International de Monaco, created by Diane Fissore, features a subtle and complex course designed by Frank Rothenberger, one of the most prestigious course designers in the world.
Of German origin, this prodigy of the course built his first obstacles at 15 and became a course designer at 20.
After having served as course designer for more than 70 Nations Cup circuits or World Cup finals, he decided to join the Longines Masters and the Longines Global Champions Tour with the Jumping International de Monaco. When asked what it represents for him, he explains that “it is a modern, lively and original concept; an equestrian celebration with show jumping of the very highest level”

This year’s course is subtle and technical: composed of 12 obstacles/14 efforts on a raised plateau, with a complex route studded with difficulties and a faulty final combination: a double vertical/oxer, which delights attentive and passionate spectators.

As Frank Rothenberger explains, the main thing is respect for the spirit and purpose of the competition: “a distance, a second of time or an oxer can change a great deal”

We thank him for the pleasure he gave us through this course for this competition.
