For almost 60 years now, the biggest international stars and the TV world have been meeting in Monaco, in a cinema setting, for this festival.
The objective being of course to make known all the new TV programs, to the public and to the press, but especially to win a prize, the famous Golden Nymph.

There is also the Crystal Nymph, which recognizes an individual for lifetime achievement and career achievement in television.

The poster for this occasion, majestic and traditional with the Prince couple looking with tenderness at the Golden Nymph. The background of the photo has been removed to highlight and pay tribute to this wonderful emblematic couple.

Why was this festival created? His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III, a pioneer in many fields, saw in the 1960s television as a means of expression to bring people together and bring culture and peace through programs. He decided to encourage this new form of expression and communication with this festival to reward the programs and make the development of television flourish.

The reaction was immediate, the entire audiovisual community responded, and the recognition of this award was worldwide.

For the 60th anniversary, the Television Festival reforms the rules with a reorganization of the competition criteria, categories, dates and awards.
- for the official selection, 9 programs in 2020 (against 24 in 2019). The goal is to privilege the quality and the winners who will be nominated in all categories.
- For the news category, 3 prizes: News Reports, Major Reports and Documentary Films.
- The Prince Rainier III Prize becomes a category in its own right.
- Creation of the FOD, your Festival On Demand: on this occasion you will meet the casts of the programs selected by the jury and you will be entitled to screenings and conferences that will be exclusively reserved for you.
Concerning the Festival, from now on each projection will be done each evening in the presence of the members of the cast, and will be open and free to the public.

Please note: entries between Monday, November 4, 2019 and Friday, February 28, 2020. The results of the nominees will be announced in May 2020 and the Golden Nymphs Ceremony will take place on June 23, 2020.
For the Press, the accreditation applications start on January 14, 2020.
