For several years, the city of Nice has undergone numerous transformations with development work included in a real development project, the objective of Mr. Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and his team, as well as the Metropolis.
Even if the rehabilitation of all the neighborhoods is far from being completed, what has already been achieved is a real success.
Everything has been redesigned to increase the attractiveness of the city, Nice being the fifth largest city in France, and one of the most touristic in the world.
Successful bet: Christian Estrosi has managed to preserve the authenticity of the city, its art, its culture, its wealth, while modernizing and developing it to increase its capacity of reception.
Transportation: major work has been carried out to link all the city's districts more easily with the tramway, as well as access to Nice airport.
There are buses that allow Nice residents to go anywhere in the region; also practical for those who work in Sofia Antipolis, the Sofia Express bus, every quarter of an hour during rush hour, connects Nice to Sofia in 45 minutes via the freeway, for 1.50 euros.
All these developments are of course part of the ecological project that is dear to the heart of France and the French. All these means of transport will allow the people of the region and the tourists to use their vehicle less.
Christian Estrosi has also started his plan to green up the city and create bicycle paths, which is currently beautifying all the neighborhoods of Nice.
To complete this project, the development of green spaces: after the magnificent green corridor in the heart of the city, the Nice Eco-Valley Park will provide a lung for the "new Nice" that is developing to the west of the city.
We must not forget either the rail transport which is very important for the people of the region with the total redevelopment of the Nice-tiers central station and its district.
Let's also remember that Nice is the student city of the region since all the universities are concentrated here, so it was necessary to facilitate the development of students with the creation of new campuses, including, for example, the one dedicated to students on work-study programs, which will train its students for the jobs of the future (planned for 2020).
The most beautiful streets of the city have also been redesigned, or will be, as the famous Avenue Victor Hugo to name one, with plants and flowers that are a symbol of the city.
In terms of prestigious events, Nice has nothing to envy its competitors: after the Nice Jazz Festival, the Carnival, the Biennale des Arts, the Fête de la musique, there is now the Festival Cinéroman to complete this already full calendar. We must not forget the major sporting events such as the Ironman France, the international half-marathon, the Paris-Nice cycling race, the Europétanque, the international Christmas star regattas, or the international triathlon among others.
Nizza la Bella is being reborn, and it is a joy to see the city where I was born and where I went to high school and university regain all the beauty it deserves... bravo and thank you to Christian Estrosi!
