The most beautiful resorts are barely an hour from Nice, open at first on weekends, and then every day once the snow is deeper. Each has its own charm and assets to discover, for a weekend or even a single day.
But for longer stays, it is important to choose your resort carefully; to do so, you should ask yourself the right questions:
- First, determine the nature of the holiday: alone, as a couple, with friends or as a family.
- Then, based on the first criterion, look for the atmosphere you desire.
- Set the holiday budget; it is decisive depending on the destination.
- Then consider the period in which you are travelling; also very important for checking the snow cover on the slopes.

The most authentic: Valberg
Over the years, Valberg has become the locals’ favourite resort: very elegant, with a pedestrian zone in the town centre and electric shuttles and car-sharing cars to get around everywhere. For skiing, 56 runs across 90 km to satisfy keen skiers. There are also marked snowshoe trails, snow golf, a heated swimming pool and many other facilities that both young and old will love. The most traditional: Auron
Auron is the favourite resort of good skiers: 135 km of runs across 42 slopes, the majority of which are intended for experienced skiers, latest-generation ski lifts, hands-free ski pass; everything is organised to optimise skiing. One hour from Nice, La Colmiane offers a 30 km ski area with 20 runs. For the little ones, “Les Ptits Loups” from the age of 3. Isola is a Grand Ski destination thanks to its altitude and its snow cover.

Dit kleine, gezellige en chique hotel met 4 sterren beschikt over 25 smaakvol gedecoreerde kamers en suites met een panoramisch zicht op de natuur, volledig op het zuiden. De blauwe piste „Chalet Marano” brengt u in 5 minuten naar het skigebied. Om te ontspannen na het skiën biedt de Spa Eskimo verzorgingen op basis van bergplanten. Een echte traktatie!
Het dichtstbijzijnde bij de kust: Gréolières les Neiges
Op 45 minuten van Grasse ligt dit charmante kleine skigebied met 30 km skipistes en 30 km langlaufpistes. Een prachtig oud dorp op de top van de Cheiron, met een onbelemmerd uitzicht over de Côte d’Azur en de Italiaanse Riviera. Kinderopvang, skiclub van de Colmiane en ESF-club.
Goed om te weten: voor het skiseizoen 2019-2020 wordt Gréolières het eerste skigebied in Frankrijk dat profiteert van het concept „solidaire communicatie” door samen te werken met het skigebied Val d’Allos. Dit concept heeft als doel kleine skigebieden zoals Gréolières te steunen, die vaak door hun budget beperkt zijn, zodat ze kunnen blijven bestaan.
