We were blown away on this first day by the victories of Richard Howley for Ireland and Giacomo Casadei for Italy in the CSI5.
CSI5 – LGCT Cannes Opening Prize, 1.40 m, was a two-phase competition that held many surprises, with Jane Richard and her wonderful Fouego de la Closiere in the lead with a time of 29.30 seconds, but was ultimately overtaken by Let’s Go FZ, ridden by Giacomo Casadei, who completed the second phase in 28.56 seconds. The 22-year-old Italian thus secured his first victory in a CSI5 event.

A great third-place finish for Harold Boisset and Malia du By with a time of 30.87 seconds.
CSI5 – GC TV Prize – 1.45 m, with a magnificent victory by Richard Howley riding Petitfour vd Wareslage for Ireland, who dethroned Ben Maher, the world No. 2.
Not to mention CSI2—Aurélie Prize Bidermann and the GC TV Award, with Romain Potin and Brooklyn taking home the top prize for France in the Aurélie Bidermann Prize, and Lou Potin winning with Greine des Neiges on her first visit to Cannes: a wonderful family victory.

A big win for France in the CSI2 – Prix Bord Sol – 1.40 m, with Arnaud Fontenelle, who took the win riding Gim’s des Fresnes and Figa de Gree, and completed two penalty-free rounds with times of 64.10 seconds and 65.36 seconds.

See you tomorrow for the next round of this prestigious competition.
