It has been almost 60 years now that, every year, the biggest international stars and the television world gather in Monaco, in a cinematic setting for this festival.
The goal, of course, is to showcase all the new TV programs to the public and the press, but above all to win an award: the famous Golden Nymph.

There is also the “Crystal Nymph,” which honors a person for their body of work and career in television.

The poster for this occasion is majestic and traditional, featuring the Princely couple gazing tenderly at the Golden Nymph. The background of the photo has been removed to highlight and pay tribute to this wonderful, iconic couple.

Why was this festival created? His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III, a pioneer in many fields, saw television in the 1960s as a means of expression that could bring people together and spread culture and peace through its programs. He decided to encourage this new form of expression and communication with this festival, to reward programs and foster the development of television.

The reaction was immediate: the entire audiovisual community answered the call, and the recognition of this Prize was worldwide.

For its 60th anniversary, the Television Festival has reformed its rules, reorganizing its competition criteria, categories, dates, and prizes.
- For the official selection, 9 programs in 2020 (compared with 24 in 2019). The aim is to prioritize quality and laureates who will be nominated across all categories combined.
- For the news category, 3 prizes: News Reports, Major Reports, and Documentary Films.
- The Prince Rainier III Prize becomes a category in its own right.
- Creation of the FOD, your Festival On Demand: on this occasion, you will meet the casts of the programs selected by the jury and enjoy screenings and conferences reserved exclusively for you.
Regarding the Festival, from now on each screening will take place every evening in the presence of the cast members, and will be open and free to the public.

Please note: registration runs from Monday, November 4, 2019 to Friday, February 28, 2020. The results of the nominees will be announced in May 2020, and the Golden Nymph Ceremony will take place on June 23, 2020.
For the Press, accreditation requests open on January 14, 2020.
See you on June 19, 2020, with many surprises in store!
