On Friday, the enigmatic Martin Fuchs once again outdid himself on the delicate and technical course designed by Frank Rothenberger, in a jump-off competition at 1.50m.
Taking risks to the very end, the rider finished in 35″40 and won the Casino de Monte-Carlo Trophy.

If Marco Kutscher had not knocked a rail on the final oxer, he would have won with a time of 35″25. Martin Fuchs explained that it was his first win with The Sinner, a horse he has been riding only recently, and that he was very happy about it.

At 8:45 p.m., the famous Longines Pro Am Cup, sponsored by Mrs. Charlotte Casiraghi, brought together amateurs in teams with the biggest names in the sport for a course at 1.10m and then at 1.30m. This highly anticipated competition took place in front of packed stands, which celebrated the victory of Laura Kraut (pro) and Inigo Lopez de la Osa (am).
