Nice finally has its film festival: the Cinéroman Festival, whose concept is to showcase films adapted from literary works, from novels. This festival, created by Daniel Benoin, director of the Antibes theater, and his wife, under the patronage of Mr. Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, brings a spectacular close to the year celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Victorine Studios.

The trophy: inspired by a work by Sacha Sosno, an iconic sculptor of the Côte d’Azur, whose most famous work, “La tête carrée”, reflects the city of Nice well, adding even more authenticity.

Audiences were able to enjoy the films in advance screenings in the presence of the film crews, along with debates and a reading of the novel “Le grand marin” by Catherine Poulain, read by Julie Gayet, who will soon adapt it for the cinema.

Roman Polanski received a special adaptation award for his film “J’accuse,” adapted from Robert Harris’s novel “D,” starring Jean Dujardin.

Nicole Garcia received the Ferret Prize, but the award for Best Novel Adaptation for the Cinema went to Safy Nebbou for “Celle que vous croyez,” adapted from the novel by Camille Laurent.

Yvan Attal and Charlotte Gainsbourg, who came to present “Mon chien stupide” adapted from the novel by John Fante, opened the Festival, hosted by Frédéric Beigbeder, surrounded by many of the biggest stars, including Danielle Thompson, Aure Atika, François Berléand, Nicole Garcia, Stéphane de Groodt and many others.

Whether at lunch or in the evening, the actors were able to relax and, above all, indulge at the famous restaurant “La Petite Maison,” savoring the finest Niçoise specialties in a electrifying atmosphere.

This first edition was a true success; everyone showed up, and the feedback has been more than positive… we now eagerly await the second edition.
