Marseille has been in the news a lot in recent weeks because the most famous of the “Professors” lives there.
Now that the lockdown was over, it was time to go for a little stroll along La Canebière. Here are my favorite spots:
A hotel:
C2:

Located in the heart of Marseille, on the Cours Pierre Puget, this hotel—housed in a late 19th-century building—is a true architectural gem. The concept is to preserve the building’s original character while adding modern touches for maximum comfort. The result is magnificent: bronze and turned wood banisters, chandeliers by Paolo Rizzato, ceiling frescoes, and thoughtfully selected paintings—the atmosphere here exudes luxury and indulgence.
The rooms:

A total of 20 rooms spread across 4 floors, all elegant and sophisticated: featuring designs by Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Marcel Breuer, and Rietveld, this hotel pays homage to the pioneering architects of the Modernist movement, which emerged in the early 20th century. A little tip: book one of the two exclusive rooms on the 4th floor, with a sunny balcony overlooking Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde—it’s exceptional!
To unwind, there’s a beautiful spa, a bar, a lounge, and a large, serene outdoor terrace.

As for the food, the menu is sophisticated—be sure to try the brunch served on the first Sunday of every month; it’s very popular and absolutely divine.
Opens on June 26. 48 Roux de Brignoles Street, Tel: +33 495 05 13 13
A restaurant:
The Castle :

Located in a magnificent rocky cove, this seasonal restaurant will delight even the most discerning diners with its location, setting, view, and cuisine.
Three generations of the Rambaldy family have made this place a must-visit destination. Delicious bouillabaisse, fresh fish, and excellent homemade desserts like fiadone—the famous Corsican cake made with brocciu—a real treat!
Route du Feu de la Calanque de Sormiou, Tel: +33 491 25 08 69.
A beach:
The beach at Calanque de Sormiou:

With its crystal-clear waters and idyllic, romantic scenery, this beach is a haven of peace—especially after a good meal.
A Must-Do: BBQ BOAT PARTY

One-of-a-kind and, for now, only in Marseille, this boat without a license It will let you experience something new this summer—you’ll be able to go sailing and enjoy lunch or dinner with friends, family, or your partner. It’s an original and really fun concept! It’s also ideal for those who are concerned about COVID-19 and don’t want to go back to restaurants just yet.

Good to know: This boat can be rented for half a day or a full day, but a “Sunset Night” package is also available from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. For more information and reservations, Phone: 06 37 23 61 84.
